The Defern Academy, which brings college students studying their NVQ levels 2 and 3 in beauty, hands on teaching and training in the industry, kicked off to a fun and busy start this January 2024.
Melissa, is passionate about her vision for the academy, and regularly takes time out to help, inspire and grow our trainee therapists with unique insights, experience and knowledge.
In the last few weeks, Caitlin and Melissa have been working on leg and bikini warm strip waxing. Alongside the technique and practice, Caitlin has also enjoyed learning about client care and consultation, contra indications and giving the correct after care advice.
The hair growth cycle and its relationship to waxing is important. Waxing is one of Deferns most popular treatments for which clients return every four to six weeks, and getting to know different hair and growth types is key to providing each client with the best results.
Regular practice with different models, has helped the trainees with their confidence, we are so proud of the effort and commitment the trainees bring to each training session, and we love bringing part of their journey.
